We are please to report that the Granite Gambit Chess in Education program has been extended and is now available to NH educators in the 2024 – 2025 school year.

If so, then educational chess might be the perfect addition to your teaching toolbox!

About the 2024-2025 Program

For the past two years, our professional development program has garnered rave reviews from New Hampshire teachers. Now Chess in Education – US, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the educational benefits of chess, is excited to extend the Granite Gambit program through September 30, 2025. Participating schools will receive free Chess in Education professional development, certification, chess training licenses for students, and chess equipment.

Our professional development opportunities are designed forĀ  K-12 educators like you, equipping you with the skills and knowledge to confidently integrate chess into your classroom instruction. Through our comprehensive training program, you will:

  • Gain a deep understanding of the educational benefits of chess, including improved academic performance, critical thinking skills development, and increased focus and concentration.
  • Learn effective instructional methods for teaching chess to students of all ages and ability levels.
  • Discover how to ramp up student attention by integrating chess into your current teaching practices.
  • Receive practical classroom management strategies to ensure a positive and engaging learning environment for your students.
  • Earn your Chess in Education Instructor Certification, allowing you to implement chess instruction with confidence and credibility.

The Granite Gambit program is made possible by the New Hampshire Department of Education and federal ESSER funding.
